Wood storage

I'm looking for ideas to store extra lengths (various lengths) of wood in my woodshop. I know I'm looking for something wall mounted to get it off my floor. Shop is 10x20.

Please post up pictures of what you use. Thanks

I dont have pictures but I mounted 12" partical board shelving from HD using those gray metal bracket . Kept the lower one 50" above floor so I could have 4+8 sheets up aginst wall under the shelf. I then spaced two more above the first. Make them long enough for the length of lumber you expect to keep on them.

It's not fancy, but here's what I did in my 12x16 shop. I just fastened 18 inch pieces of 2x4s to the wall studs at a 5-10(?) degree angle.

hmmm, slight back angle...hadn't thought of that. Thanks! I can't quite do it like you did since my shop is finished with drywall. But I think I can make some brackets no problem. Keep the ideas coming.

Mine won't be adjustable and I think I am going to weld 1" square tube to 3/16" flat stock and mount them to the walls.

I use the shelving under my workbenches.
They are 4 x 8 so std size lumber fits fine.

I have a fairly tall ceiling, so I dropped two 18" 2x4's from the rafters 24" apart, and put a four foot 2x4 on the bottom. I have two sets, 4' apart. I can put round things (pipe, closet rod, etc) in the center and it won't roll out, and lumber in the middle or on either side.

More great ideas. The Grizzley version looks to be very easy to do and will mount on the wall which I have plenty of wall space to use.

I would use the area under my bench, but it's already used for paint stuff storage.

Keep the ideas coming! All have been great so far.

The grizzly ones have proved to be quite sturdy. I have probably 600# of wood on mine with no probs.

I think this was a Wood magazine project. I built this in an attempt to clean up my garage. It ended up taking a 44x56 pole barn to get my wifes car in there.
Currently its apart and waiting install inside a 16x24 wood room I'm building in the barn.

And yes I know the walls are a terrible color, It's on the "to do list".

HD and Lowes sell heavy duty metal shelf brackets.

Just lag them into the studs.

Yes, I lagged them to the wall studs and used a paddle bit to countersink the heads. Also used paddle bit at a slight angle to make holes for the black pipe. I'll try and find the link I copied the plans for.
