Hello Garage Journal... I need some help calculating cords of wood vs propane use.
My wife and I are starting a wood stove program in the house. How do I reasonably or sensibility convert about 1,000 gallons of propane into "how much wood do I need to burn" --Because every chart/wood BTU thing I can find is all specific species. And you don't know where I live, just like I don't know the exact species of wood that will be delivered to my driveway (Rhode Island, New England).
Is it reasonable to think that I need to expect to burn 4.55 cords of wood this winter? That seems crazy. My wife and I expected it to be 2-2.5... maybe 3 cords.
