wood vs steel

I was just browsing the gallery section today and wondered how many folks take into consideration the cost of insurance between wood structures and steel structures; or concrete block, for that matter.
About a dozen years ago I started planning my little backyard shop, and was leaning toward a Morton building. I went with a Butler type building after I did a little investigation with my insurance company.
I know the cost of steel has risen dramaticlly in the last few years; especially after Katrina, but also due to the imerging giant that is China, I'm just suggesting that if you are building a stand alone shop that you do some homework before choosing.

I as others would be interested in the results of your findings between all the different construction types and what roll this played if you shopped more than a couple insurance companies? Another interesting view point to the cost of building that could smack one in the side of the head if not alerted to it. Thanks Storm King....H

I asked my agent the last time he was here looking everything over and he said it made no differance in price.

One thing a person might consider is the cost between insuring a attached garage and detached garage. In my case I already had almost enough insurance for insuring things outside the house that it only cost me a few dollars to insure the 22x26 garage.
