I realize this post should be in the wood working section, but just had to share here. Went to a specialty saw mill yesterday with a friend looking for both gorgeous pieces of wood and “unique” pieces. We found both. Bought this beautiful hardwood maple “round” which is older than our nation. This piece is approximately 263 years old. It’s about 42” in diameter. My bud brought home three of these unique pieces to build a coffee table out of. We simply didn’t notice the “species” until we were unloading it. We thought it was pine, but turned out to be pecker wood instead. We laughed for 10 minutes.
