Several years ago I saw this picture posted in one of the threads here. It was in with a group of pics and there was no info on it.

Does anyone know anything about this box, like who made it, was it a production piece or a one-off? Where could I find one of these and what would a value be? Thanks in advance.

Completely awsome, but I am guessing it is a one off made by the craftsman himself.

A woodworker friend of mine made his own large workbench that also doubles as an outfeed table for his tablesaw.
Most people don’t have furniture that nice in their house, much less as a workbench in the shop

I am guessing Hand Made by the Craftsman. A friend of mine made one of those for his father to use at the pistol range. Apparently that was a very popular old design for that use as they would mount a spotting scope in the lid that you could use to check targets. They are a lot of work, but quite spectacular when done.

Pachmayr made those. I've got one and am really happy with it. Mine has magnets on the lid that you can snap a timer or magazines to.

Wow, thanks for that memory. I remember back in the 70's I had two of those Pachmayr Super Deluxe boxes. One in the original brown and a later model in black. Sturdy boxes they were. And who could ever forget how good they smelled inside.

Gerstner makes wood machinist tool boxes lined with green felt - I don't believe they make anything with a flip lid on the diagonal like that but still their stuff is quality and traditional - neat box pictured

Very nice! I have never seen that version, only the wooden ones that folks have made themselves. Neat idea. May have to put one on the to do list...
