Woodworkers: what do you call this dovetail?

Hello,

I recently saw some cabinets being made with a sort of false dovetail on the corners, but I don't know what the joint is called.

Basically, the corner is a mitered joint and it is held together with Festool Dominos for strength. But then, after its all done, a dovetail is cut through on the corner on a diagonal (i.e. the router cuts the dovtail shape through both the top and side of the corner) and a trapezoidal piece of contrasting wood is slipped in. Then that piece is sanded down flush, leaving a nice dovetail like design that is apparent on the top and side of the corner.

Can someone tell me what this is called? I've been Googling forever and I must be missing something.

Thanks in advance!

It is a version of an exposed spline joint. Although with the use of contrasting wood it makes for a very much stronger joint than just a miter joint.
