Hello,
I've been in the trade of finish carpentry, trim, doors, Windows, cabinetry for about 17 years.
I've found countless books on the topic of wood tech, jointery and finishing. Also jig making and equipment.
However, I've found "understanding wood" by Bruce Hoadley, the most helpful to learn important facts about wood itself that otherwise would rarely be addressed while at work, but relevant when sourcing materials and such.
I was wondering if you have any favorites in the topics of:
Japanese jointery
Traditional Jointery
Finishing
Hand tools, not powered.
Cabinet making/ design.
Also, a woodworker's guide to read blueprints.
I find that I would like to share titles with new guys and apprentices I meet. But I usually send them to youtube on search of Gary Katz. Lol
Thank you
