Hey guys I'm new here and have been doing lots of reading on this forum about work benches. You guys make some amazing things for your shops.

I'm looking at building a relatively basic bench that really won't see any heavy duty use. I'll be mounting a vise and it's main use will be for holding things while I cut/grind on them.

A member here posted this bench

This is actually exactly what I had pictured in my head when I started thinking about this but was hoping you guys could guide me in construction.

I actually have no wood tools so I'm going to go pick up a circular saw tomorrow.

Welcome to the forum. For something easy to build and very close to the bench in the picture, check out 2x4basics (see link below) The length and depth is determined by you. All you do is make straight cuts and assemble. Whatever you end up doing, good luck!

I've looked at that kit but 36" is a little too short for me. I would be wanting something in the 40"-42" height range.

If you'd consider a slightly less basic design look at the bench I built from plywood and 2" X4"s, see it in the video link below. If you think you'd like modify the idea for your needs PM me.
