Work bench surface finish

I picked up two vintage steel workbenches on craigslist that need refinishing. I noticed snap on does a work top for their carts that they describe as having a coating similar to bedliner. https://store.snapon.com/Steel-Work-Surfaces-Top-Steel-Coated-KRA5311-KRA5318-P744783.aspx

This looks like it might be a good idea for a workbench top, anyone with any experience doing this?

Ricky Sanders Racing/pitboxes.com using something similar to bedliner for the tops of its high end pit boxes. I checked them out at the PRI show in Indianapolis and I think its a good idea.
