Work center lighting alternatives

Hi everyone,

I finally got my new 72” Snap On work center installed, and to my dismay discovered that the fancy lighting features that I saw on the Rock and Roll Truck were an OPTION and not part of the work center, silly me . Further to my dismay I see that Snap On wants a nauseating $600+ for the light kit. I see that Harbor Freight has a carbon copy of the kit for $100… that would be an interesting alternative to me but my local HF said it’s a special order item and could take a long as 3 months to get.

Has anyone else come up with any other neat solutions to light up their work center? Picture of my horrible cluttered mess attached🫠

I've used cheap rigid LED strip lighting from Amazon for several projects. It works pretty well for the price.

I've used the aluminum light bars with frosted lenses several times. A few installs are 10 years old.
Choice of lengths, color, lumens, and stackable.

I put a row of these down the side of my shop with the toolchests. Mounted to the bottom edge of a shelf I built that sticks out 24" at about 8' height.
