hey

I want to buy a good handheld shop work light, corded or cordless, don't mater. I did a quick search on here but there are new lights coming out all the time so it would nice to see what everyone is using.
the type of light is in this link

Looking for something durable, 360degree light or close to it. just simply something good. Something you can hang or has a magnet or even wrap around something.

What are you guys using that you are really impressed with? I have been using a head lamp lately and i love that, but also want a better work light. The one I had only had light on one side which is a pain because Im always adjusting the placement of it.

let's hear some good options. thanks

I'm using an ATD one that's about a year old and has been pretty decent.

Consider whatever battery powered one that uses the same battery as other power tools you own.

I bought this about 2 years ago and absolutely love it. I've dropped it, retrieved it out of a pond, ran it over with a four wheeler and it's still kicking. Keeps a good charge and lasts for 5-6 hours running it non stop on a full charge. I will intentionally turn it on and leave it on to completely drain the battery so it won't get dependent on a charger (not sure if this is recommended but i do it with all my rechargeable things)

I have a Craftsman rechargeable with I think 60 led of it. I have had good luck with it.

That's the same one I have, how is the battery life on yours? I swear mine starts to dime after about 15 minutes and after another 15, I have to plug it back in. It's only a few months old as well, I barely use it because of the battery life.

I seldom have need for a work light, but when I do I want something reliable that I can count on to not fail me when I'm in the middle of a project that requires ample light.
I still prefer the old school corded 10" aluminum reflector, clamp on style with incandescent bulb that gives me all the light I need. I figure if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I consider battery powered work lights a nuisance and do not want to replace expensive batteries that die from lack of use. It's nice knowing I have light at the flick of a switch, otherwise just grab another cheap bulb before starting work.

You need a small collection, really.

I have LED bulbs in my corded drop lights now -- no heat to fry your arm or ignite vapors if they break, and they don't break every time you drop the light or look at them funny.

Sometimes you don't have access to power, so a battery powered light is essential -- I have a couple of headlamps as well as a Nebo Big Larry light.

It's nice to have the cordless ones when doing electrical work with the service off or when you just need a quick light for 5-10 minutes to check something out. Wife comes home saying "the car is making a noise underneath"...grab the cordless light, have a peek, tell her it's snow, and go back to the couch lol

For the all day stuff I still use the corded drop lights.

i have milwaukee M18.....I will keep this in mind..thanks

Without question, go with the Milwaukee stuff then. I have 2 of the #2360 flood lights and they are AWESOME, but they also make a 360 degree light that's what you're looking for - #2363.

You won't be hanging these with a magnet though.

I started a thread about this a while ago. I have yet to find a drop light that fits every situation. Like others have said, you really need a collection of different style lights to cover different applications.
