Work/Play Shop 18'x40' "Build Thread"

Hi all, i've been lurking on here for the past several months. It's been GREAT. Not sure if you would call this a build thread but that's what i'm calling it LOL

I rent a shop mainly for my pressure washing business but I use it for play as well...working on my trucks and toys. I've been in it since March of 2013 and i've never really utilized the space as well as I should have. The goal this year is to use it more and ORGANIZE. It's something I have had a challenge with for a long time.

First step. Build a mezzanine for extra space.

Enough talk, on with the pics!

This is the view from the front door looking towards the back. The tile will be removed eventually..that was left there by the previous tenant.

Got some of the posts up for the mezzanine...what a mess!!

Got the skeleton done. Should finish tomorrow.

and can't forget the newly purchased HF 44" and HF welding cart. Good stuff! I really like the tool box. Impressive value.

Made some good progress today...got the stairs finished and all of the joists are hung. Started to lay tongue and groove for the flooring, then we called it a day.

Agenda for wed/thur...going to finish the flooring. Then we might paint and build shelves. Not exactly sure. I have to get my electrician out here to run wire for some shop lights that will be installed under the mezzanine. It's DARK under there already.

Can't wait for this to be done! Building this mezzanine added almost 35% more square footage. Bringing my total to around 970sqft

The mezzanine is done! We got it done last night. Had my electrician come by and wire in another circuit for the lights. Unfortunately he didn't get the cool white bulbs like I already have but i'm going to run these for now.

This week i'll be building some shelves and storage up there so I can start hiking stuff up to put away soon. I am super happy with how it came out. It's strong and add a ton of space.

Thanks guys..My neighbor helped me from start to finish..first time we have ever built something like this..Turned out to be quite a project but it was well worth it!
