too late to be any real help but I wear Englebert Strauss - job involves crawling round, under, in (including motors) wind tunnels and no issues so far

I wore taclight pro pants from 5.11 tactical for years! I have some that are pushing 10 years old. Some of the stitching is beginning to come loose, although they wear like iron and they don’t fade out. Fast drying, rip stop, still wear them now that I’m officially retired.

Almost forgot.... Ask your employer what they're willing to comp you for work clothes for the interim.

Otherwise I'm showing up for work as the Dude.
The robe may get in the way of machinery and the white russians, well, hope you bring enough for the rest of the class. Dickies from WalMart are good. They usually have different styles, flex, cargo pants, etc.
