Started with a few logs and my Alaskan mill to make up a few benches and router table in the new garage shop.

The boards sat in the garage stickerd up for around six months to dry, it is white pine it dries pretty quick.

I may add some drawers to them the one with tools on it is in my wifes spot she plays with tools too.

I'd like to see more pics of the table showing details, such as how the legs attach to the top, as well as more pics of the monster router table. The saw setup is interesting too...

I used a similar leg arrangement using 2x4s carriage bolted to a rectangular frame under the tabletop. It looks much like yours except in comparison mine appears to have been built by a 4 year old ;)

71flh I will take some closeups and post.

mitusa, the bar I am using is 24" it a stihl 660 it could run a 48" bar and mill effectively. when I mill I run ripping chain it has a 10 degee angle instead of 30 it make a huge difference when cutting with the grain in terms of finish and speed.

The saw is set up with the alaskan small log mill it is an open throat design the larger capacity mill jigs mount on both ends of the bar for cut stability.

It take a bit of horsepower to mill, at least a 60cc saw my 660 is 92cc

You can get more info here
http://www.baileysonline.com/search.asp?skw=alaskan

I have turned some logs that would be firewood to most into some beautiful boards.

Notherntool sells the Alaskan MKIII's for less than $200. Always thought about getting one. You may have just inspired me too

Thats awesome, thanks for taking the time to post up the pics. I was bummed to see them all trimed out. I'd love to see one raw edge... but it is still AWESOME! :D

I've been wanting to get a set-up like that for a while. I'm currently in the process of building a bandmill.

Some more pics as requested no fancy joints just face joints with polyurethane glue. I like the poly glue because it sets up in cold temperatures and will bond damp wood.

This top board is screwed to the apron underneath connecting the legs

Under table shot of leg apron connection, I did an oops and put two screw countersinks to far out

And a few more router table pics nothing fancy in the joints here I used some angle to fasten the aluminum to the legs.'

The top is 3/4 aluminum I have had for years just waiting to be used it a timesaver not having to swap bits out of one router.

Fantastic looking bench, not what I expected when opening the thread, there must also be a lovely smell from the fresh wood when making it.
