Hey folks,

I have an existing work bench from our old house that I'm painting and trying to keep it from wobbling without attaching it to the wall. problem is I'm not comfortable that attaching corner brackets and such will work effectively.

Now I'm certain that I will install the Rockler casters http://www.rockler.com/workbench-ca...PL&sid=V9146&gclid=CKe-3v3_k80CFYQ2gQodsWcIIQ

and screw the bench into the wall.:scared: Now I realize that sounds goofy but I'm looking for a way to attach it and without screwing up the 2x4's its attached to Remove it and wheel away when needed. Is there some kind of bolt and nut solution out there that I could install into a 2x4 base and just screw out every know and then.

Thanks,

Gary

I'm having a hard time understanding what you want to do. You want to attach it to the wall without attaching it?.

Anyhow, this might be what you want.

Well I can't link the specific anchor. Scroll down and look under the "threaded studs for wood" section.

That's alright, I suffer from foot in mouth disease. We all have a downside.

You should easily be able to make a work bench stand on its own and not wobble. I would add supports underneath the shelves at each leg. I would also attach a cross bar at the base of the outside legs to attach those casters to (assuming you want them mounted on the ends of the workbench). If the bench is nailed together, I would suggest wood screws instead as nails can back out with heavy use.
