My Garage is getting close to being finished. I am planning my storage solution for it now and have a question. In a corner what has everyone done with the dead part of the corner? Im looking to build an L shape work bench but don't want that wasted corner area?

Thanks Shane

I have a stacked "shelf" with my parts bin organizers. It's rough, or i'd take a pic.

Just picture a corner cabinet in a kitchen. Every "level" is a pul out plastic organizer with screws, standard hardware, metric, electrical components etc. that I can grab and carry to where I need them.

My easy solution to the dead corner space in an ell shaped work bench was to make it the knee space. This knee space has plenty of room for my feet w/o affecting the small storage shelves inside this area. This area also contains the electrical and phone line entrance conduits that are easily accessible if needed. Works well for me.

Can't help you there. I "wasted" my corner by using it as a workbench surface.

Corner 1 - entrance door
Corner 2 - upright compressor
Corner 3 - tail stock end of wood lathe
Corner 4 - forced air (hot water) heater

Hey Stevo, love your bench! How big is each toolbox?

I think this is the way I will go but just seems like a waste under the bench. I am considering having a removable top section and storing something under there?

I do like the idea of cutting across the corner on and angle and putting some storage or a small toolbox in there at least there will be some space used.

Thanks everyone. Shane

I wish I had enough tools to fill that many boxes. well I guess I could do it but half of them would be doubles from the house box in the garage.
You could use of them as ammo storage. Rifle/pistol in the shallow drawers, shotgun in the deeper ones. One or two drawers for gun tools & cleaning supplies.

Full size drill press. In my mind I wanted to put the lazy Susan around the base, but in real life I stuck a square milk crate and have my short lumber pieces stacked and leaning against the wall for lack of a better place for that.
Other corner, weed wackier and electric leaf blower on a wall bracket.

Upright compressor... definitely needs timed auto drain valve as it's almost impossible to reach down back around either wall base to drain condensation. Piles of lumber scrap remnants, light gardening catch all and a utility closet rounds out my four corners. At 14 x 30 I can attest to the importance of utilizing every inch of a corner the best way possible. I'll be watching this for help myself.

A welding machine goes pretty well in a corner. All the businesslike parts are somewhere else. Just as long as one can adjust the controls I find its a good use of the space, I park a Syncrowave there.

There was someone on here that made a frame to hold one of the harbor freight side boxes at a 45 degree angle in the corner
