I am looking for a workbench to suit my needs. Because of limited space, I want something that is 4'-5' in width, and less than 24" in depth. I have two tool chests in my garage, an old red/gray tall craftsman, and a newer 40" stainless griplatch Craftsman tool chest set. I went to Sears yesterday, and their professional series workbenches just don't look very nice, plus my garage will have three different versions of Craftsman, all clashing. Yes, aesthetics do matter! I want something that is heavy duty, with a good surface that I can install a bench vise on. Ideally, I could roll some drawers underneath for tool storage, or even get a shorter stainless Craftsman chest to roll underneath there. I was looking at the 48" Gladiator and it seems to be sturdy and heavy duty - but can you get it with a stainless top? I have seen the offerings at Sam's (but am not crazy about the styling also creating a third style and clash with my tool chests) and Costco (But see complaints here about the drawers, etc.) I am also considering a Whalen with built in drawers. Andy thoughts about that? Can you install a bench vise on top? But there was just a recall -is there a quality issue?:
