Mods feel free to move if this is in the wrong forum. Just got done pouring my slab and I'm looking for some input on my workbench. I work tool and die, a lot of our old 50s style benches have the flared steel legs, with 2x6s across the top, and a layer of 1/2" plywood to finish it off. I'm looking to follow the same design, and finish it with some nice sheet stainless I picked up for a song. Can anyone sway me into spending money on the pine plywood over the cheaper osb? I know the texture is different, but it would be covered by the stainless. Thanks for any input!

Plywood will not swell if you spill a liquid beverage on it. The osb will. A sheet of metal will
only protect the top, if it runs off the side you will regret it.
