We cut some new tables on our Amada laser a few days ago. They will go in our production welding booths. We have a few guys who assemble parts all day everyday. We needed a faster way to fixture and a way to consolidate the fixtures when not in use. So... here we go. I will update more when they are in use. The legs on the tables are adjustable in height to allow for a more suitable work station based on the part being assembled.

The tables were drawn in Solidworks and then laser cut from 1/4" HRPO.

I did a job for a factory and we took chunks of 1/4 plate and tacked all the jigs to them for some of the jobs. We could stack them out of the way and toss it on the table to work on a job.

That's how we did it at the shop I worked at , too.

The main doing fixtures liked to use magnets to hold parts and limit the number of clamps. For contoured parts he would use Bondo for extra location. Kinda hack, but worked well for consistent fixturing of parts.

I have never thought of using Bondo but that would work great in some applications.

we need pictures of them in use.

We are working on getting them set up in our production welding booths. I will post up some more pics soon. Some of the fixtures we use we will not post because we either can't show another companies parts we are making or we don't want to show some of the ways we do things. I do have some fixtures we are building for these tables we won't mind showing.

We have a job coming up where we are building about a mile of hand railing. I will show the fixtures we are building for those.
