I inherited this Thor Drill Model 5041, but, as cool as it is, I just cannot keep everything. I had a long discussion on the Vintage Tool Discussion about this. Here are the highlights.

The drill works.

The top reads:

MAD 1/4 110
Model 5041 (or is that 5044??)
Serial 43758
RPM 2500 AMP 1.8

We think that this was probably manufactured or sold in the 1940's because I was able to find something that looks similar in the 1940 catalog (35B). I had trouble finding any examples of this drill.

Clearly the Drill has been painted at some point, but they did a good job. The top markings show through the paint job, which I did not expect. I found one restoration video that shows a shiny version of this drill. There was speculation that this might be related to being used in the Military. My Grandfathers were both classified as critical (one a tool and die maker and the other would electrical motors) because they were needed for production (or so I am told).

One other anomaly is that this drill has a quick release chuck, something that does not appear to be available at this time.

The drill is currently stored in an old Sears rotory tool case that I will include if you want it. And now for some more photos.

I am asking $10 plus shipping. Normally I the USPS and a flat rate box. If you want the hard case, I need to use a large flat rate box, so shipping is $25 I think. I believe I can drop this into a medium flat rate box if I do not ship the case.

But I am willing to ship any way you desire.... Obviously cheaper if I ship using ground, just providing some known shipping costs.
