the Nebo Larry Light.
i was looking for a good work light for work (plant maintenance). used to not really be an issue because i was wearing a hard hat all day before, and just had a hard hat clip for my pelican. but i gave it up to work for a better company (and cleaner). no more hard hat, and the bought real nice pocket lights for us. the streamlight microstream. very nice little flashlight, single AAA, and over 60 lumen i believe. you could put 10 of them in your shirt pocket and one produces enough light to light up anything in front of you. and at 28 bucks, it better be good for a tiny light.
but what i found was, more often i and putting the damn thing in my mouth while i work on something in a dark and tight area because i need some light, and you cant put a light on what you are doing. it took some searching but i think i found my holy grail of portal work lights and im going to probably buy another 4-5 of them and give them as gifts to my father and brother. and use another in my garage at home.
its got 8 (possibly c4 with lens?) LED bulbs, runs on 3 AAA, and is as long as 3 AAA, the light surface sticks out a little, but its still extremely compact for the light it puts out.
has a clip so clipping to a shirt pocket for working on thing in front of you is still good. and the best part is that it has a damn magnet built into the clip, and the clip swivels! so its basically perfect in terms of aportable high powered work light. the comparison is crazy to my microstream that i thought was a bright work light. if you turn of both, the larry drowns out the micro easily, and covers 5x the lighting area. there are a few youtube reviews of it that show the lighting difference between a single led light with a solid stream. and the difference is amazing in person too.
i bought mine from amazon for about 8 bucks and got free shipping for prime. 8 bucks... that is super cheap for such a good light.
the only CON to it is that it feels not so durable even though they claim it's durable. the plastic around the lights feels like it could collect dust inside of it and need to be cleaned at some point (like any light almost). and the battery cap needs to be a screw on instead of the 90* twist... other than that, definitely the best pocket worklight i have seen for the money by far.
