Worklight options??

i'm looking for some sort of telescopic or adjustable workbench or office lamp to use for soldering on the bench etc... anything out there?? i have a very grunty 12vdc power supply so could even convert lamp to LEDS and i have even considered some sort of vehicle led lights but have no idea what the various options are like on ebay..

any suggestions??

My Dad used to use an old-school round florescent lamp with a magnifier in the middle, that connected to his workbench via a c-clamp device. Did a lot of soldering and such with it, had a swinging arm to get it out of the way. Quick google search came up with this:

Those are fairly popular on here for spot work. They also make them with a heavy round base instead of a clip-on. We have several for desk lamp and such and like them.

I have one of those. It's an awesome little light for bright spot lighting. I did swap it out with an IKEA halogen desk lamp on a swing arm though. The halogen was a little brighter but the light spread (more flood than spot) was much better.
