, if all goes well, we should be doing the closing on Friday... First thing on the list is to get the build permits to do the workshop... wohooo!!Had not thought of that... makes sense. I was trying to, as much as I could within the limited lot, not have the workshop be the whole back view from the house... but 2'-3' is not going to make a difference and will allow a 10'-11' space on that side.![]()
I would make it about 12' off the fence line so you can add a lean to roof to park the RV under. It will thank you.
If its in the budget I would try to make the shop climate controlled. It gets HOT in the summer around here. I insulated my 30x40 and it slows the rate that it heats up, but it still gets heat soaked. Roll up doors make AC more difficult unless you buy the right ones to start with.
Looking good though! Love the Porsche.

Sorry for taking so long to reply... had not seen your post. I have not gotten a quote. Was waiting to have the funds again... funny how stuff gets in the way.Where you ever able to get a quote for CBS construction? I'm in south Florida and working through the same metal vs CBS question.
Thanks.

@wachuko Thanks for posting the photos. Had to do a search to find the corners you used. Cast concrete looks way better than steel brackets and they won't need to be replaced every 5 years (in Florida). I also like the price...
Nice!!!! Is that a surface grinder in the right? Nice shop!!
Yes. I got mine from Lowes, but they have them at almost every hardware store.@wachuko Thanks for posting the photos. Had to do a search to find the corners you used. The lights are from Amazon link here and they light up my 30x30 detached garage/shop quite well, only have 9 of the 10 up.
Funny story.....Craig (Cbacres) was over Sunday to pickup some stuff and we got to talking about lighting, and what lighting I was using and lo and behold he texts today that he ordered the same lights.Cool!Ordered!
They do when you set it up... A lot of the folks on YouTube do that with their links...Funny story.....Craig (Cbacres) was over Sunday to pickup some stuff and we got to talking about lighting, and what lighting I was using and lo and behold he texts today that he ordered the same lights.I wonder if Amazon offers commission on sales ?
I know not as good of a story as BOB HEINE tells but he is the master of telling them ,,,,,

Yes, only for a few years. Then we sell the house in Orlando and move permanently to Ocala. All geared towards retirement. Getting all the tooling and machines I will need to keep busy during retirement...since I will not be able to buy anything like this after we retire. All this just for fun, not planning to make any money out of this... keeping the mind and body busy and all that...Two houses?
looks like everything is falling in place.
Yes… yesterday as well. But those are waiting for me in Orlando… we drove over to Ocala Thursday night…Did your lights come in? Received mine yesterday.

They were quick to reply... backlog of build is 10 months... yikes!Hope it works out. Being in limbo *****.
