Workwear...what's your preference?

What do you wear day in and day out in your profession and why? What brand do you demand or wish for?
I'm In Australia and our choices over the counter are 1, Chinese cheap 2, Hard Yakka 3, King Gee. Sick of the overpriced **** that doesn't suit my needs and wears out too quickly so I was wondering what the international community here on GJ wear. Looking for comfortable and utilitarian tradesman type shirts and trousers.
Recommendations anyone?

We have work shirts supplied by the company so can't help ya there. But pants I'm having extremely good luck with Berne jeans. Now boots on the other hand? Having s hard time finding a good pair there. Looking at getting danners plus some ariats or double h's

Well, lets see. Right now I'm in sweat pants and a hoodie. . . but that's pretty standard midnight shift attire.

During the day its usually jeans, t-shirt, and a hoodie. Then again, I just sit in the dark and stare at radar screens so I'm not exactly needing "workwear".

I used to really love Dickies work shirts and when I'm working at home I live in my Carhartt bib overalls. Carhartt rules the pool for work wear here. Tough as hell. Most of my friends either work in the bibs or just the pants. Their cotton t-shirts and long sleeves are pretty tough and comfy as well.

When I am working at home, I wear my rental uniforms from work.

T-shirt, long/short sleeve and a sweatshirt in the winter. Horace Small uniform shirt when the need arises. Uniform pants are all Horace Small.

At home, I generally have Carhartt jeans on though.

Usually it's Carhartt or Dickies jeans. Same for the workshirts. Steel toed boots are required, there is really no preferred brand. I lean toward Wolverine when it come to footwear.

Some of the guys wear Red Kap shirts which are very comfortable. Others wear wear t-shirts as it's a matter of personal preference.

We have to wear at a minimum 12 ounce all cotton jeans and all cotton shirts due FR requirements.

Winter outerwear just about everyone wears some form of Carhartt coat/coveralls.

Foe pants I have been using the Dickies carpenter jean 12 oz duck in several different colors, they wear as well as Carhart but are only $22 a pair at wally world.

I haven't had much luck at all with Carhartt jeans. Had a few pair that just fell apart. I really like the Riggs brand jeans, Carhartt t shirts, and Bates Desert boots, Fox river socks in summer, Wigwam or Smartwool in winter.

I wear Cinch Jeans, a denim button-up shirt (short sleeves in the summer/long in the winter), Justin Original workboots (lace-ups), and a straw or felt hat.

everywhere i've worked provides me with uniforms,

over the years i've had
cintas, roscoe, aramark, and several local places.

recently replacement pants have been redcap

current employer also provide jackets, winter hats, and occasionally gloves.

i buy my own insulated bibs, and hooded sweatshirts for cold weather.

i wont spend a lot of money on steel toe work boots, i typically get approx a year out of them before they fall apart.
insulated and waterproof hunting boots for the winter.

I use all my old uniforms from work, as they didn't want them back. In case you can find them the brand name is Workrite, and they are quite exceptional.

Work provied uniforms. The pants ****, the cut is not right for me and I tear the croch out the first time I kneel. I kneel a lot and have the knees to prove. The shirts and coats are fine. Outside of work I wear dickie jeans. They wear good and at $22 a pair is cheap in my book. For shirts, classic dickie button up shirts for get dirty work. I have carhart shirts that I really like, but are expensive a $45 a shirt. I buy two a year and basically wear them anytime I'm not going to stain them. For boots, I live in redwings. They are on my feet from 6am to 9pm.

I had a field scouting/sales internship this summer with an agriculture input company (those of you from Mississippi and Arkansas may be familiar with Jimmy Sanders, Inc.). After wearing holes in the crotch of my Levis, I bought a couple of pairs of Dickies at Walmart, and I'll never look back.

I stay cooler, can move better, and they fit pretty well. Plus, they're a much lighter weight than denim. Not bad for $20 a pair. I can buy 3 pairs, and even if they wear out at the same rate that my jeans do, I can get three pairs for the price of one pair of Levis.

As far as shirts go, I wore a lot of those Columbia PFG button-downs to stay cool. If I'm working in a garage though, I usually just wear a t-shirt.

Also, as far as footwear goes, Red Wing 202's are just about the only thing I put on my feet anymore. I don't think I even own a pair of sneakers these days. And Wigwam Coolmax hiking socks are awesome, if you're willing to spend $11/pair on socks. For me, it was totally worth the $75 I spent, even if it was just for socks.

Well in the world of masonry you ruin your clothing really fast so cheap Walmart stuff works. In the summer i wear the cheapest or free T-shirts and i use swim suits for shorts. In the winter i wear cheap track pants and a plaid jacket. For my work boots i try and find whatever is cheapest on sale. because if a pair of boots last me 6 months im happy, I've worn out boots in the dead of winter in under 2 months. People have told me to try better quality boots and i wear them out just as fast but they cost me two 3 times as much.

we work in 95 degree heat every day, cheap walmart light color pant, as close to white you can get. white shirts, yes they are going get dirty, but dark color clothes will kill you in the heat.

shirts i like lite color button up, thin material. as someone said, if i get 90 days out of clothes Im doing good, jeans will rub you raw in the heat

Old Navy jeans, old lady gets super deals on them, like $6 a pair, so I wear them out pretty quick so it works for me.

For work, when I'm in the office, I wear polo's, jeans and steel toed cowboy boots. My day job jeans and boots gradually make it into the shop wear clothes and then her at the house, it's a gray tagless t shirt with a shirt pocket. The gray t shirts get worn till they are riddle with holes and then I tear them up into rags. My day job I sit in front of a computer and write code and design databases. At home I'm dealing with vehicles, farm work and all kinds of **** oh and I mean ****....

That's what I found as well. Wolverine hikers worked best for me. Cheap enough, at about 40 bucks a pair, steel toed, and I found they lasted me about 2 years, even in all our hydraulic oil and weld slag. Best thing was they were always comfortable from the first day, i.e. no break-in. Last 4 pair of work boots were these and I wish I had discovered them far earlier. Always got mine at Meijer-$39.95.

Dickies cotton duck dungaree pants and company issue t-shirt/sweatshirt depending on the weather. Boss likes dark blue, so everything is dark blue. Boots are 6" steel toe Timberland Pro's.

Used to wear the dickies uniform style work pants but now that I'm getting older and fatter, they just don't fit right anymore.

Not sure on the brands but military surplus/EMT/police stuff BDUs in solid colors, along with craftsman (lifetime warranty will get used often be warned) for pants. Some of them are really tough, some of the knock off look alike stuff that don't hold up well. For tshirts I go with multi packs from a retail store. Boots if I need them are dairy farmer slip on style with thick socks (sometimes two pair) and multiple insoles.

I am a collision repair tech and wear Redback lace up boots, yes Australian made boots, Snap-on socks, Redcap 100% Cotton twill pants and Carhartt cotton Tshirts. Comfort and durability all rolled together

I am WAY over dressed.
My day job is office manager and the attire for 25 years has been dress slacks, white long sleeve shirt and a tie.
You can imagine how much trouble I am in when I stop at friends' on the way home and end up with grease/oil on the sleeve. It's worse than lipstick on the collar.
