Yesssss. Used to do the reverse and chuck pencil into drill. Almost curious enough to buy one and see how they work on silver pencils for metal.

You have to buy the pencil kit.. they don't sell it separately.. for $3.50 I couldn't say no.. gonna play with it later. The Carpenter's pencil kit comes with a sharpener too, but not one with the hex adapter.. you have to twist it by hand like a sucker... Lol

Ok. So on speed 2 - my m18 fuel impact driver can eat a whole pencil in about 4 seconds. On speed 3 I'm shooting shavings in about a 3' radius around me.

I probably just sold about 20 of these with that statement..

I'm too damn lazy for that. I use an ELECTRIC Panasonic pencil sharpener. You expect me to chuck something into an impact driver or crank on a handle. I didn't go to college to do manual labor.

I've had one of those for about a year now, cant remember where I got it. Works great, you just have to be careful. Takes about 3 seconds in an impact to sharpen a brand new pencil.

You can reduce the entire pack of pencils to shavings in less than 60 seconds at 4000 RPM.

You guys chuck a pencil sharpener in an impact? Sounds like an episode of Home Improvement - I need more power! LOL.

I've had the kit for a few years. But have never put the sharpener in a drill. I just hold it my hand over the garbage can and turn the pencil manually.

IIRC those electric pannys originally sold for $200. They are sweet and work great. I bought a used one back in the day and still have it.

Here are some older pencil sharpener threads for anyone interested in vintage ones:

My pencil sharpener is mounted to a post. I just put the pencil in, turn the crank by hand, and have total control to get a good point without wasting half a pencil. Oh, and it works when the power is out and the impact battery is dead. I don't have to look for it when I need it because it's always on the post. And it's still working after 30 years.

I understand why all of you guys need a "powered" sharpener though. Yessiree, I really work up a sweat cranking that little handle by hand . . .

I bought one about 18 months ago. Yeah, watch what you are doing or you better reach for another pencil.

Gotta give it to the marketing wizard that came up with that, include an item in the package that will double your pencil sales.

One is for using and the other 14 are to see if you can fill your coworkers coffee cup up with shaving from across the room.

I prefer the cheap ones that are capped so the cap catches the shavings, no carp all over the place.

I used to put one of those on my Snap-on ratcheting screwdriver, or a short bit driver.

This is my pencil sharpener it’s not really portable LOL, but it gets the job done quick! It was made in England sum years ago. But it’s also good for a few other things.

And people will do it too. Then scarf pencils in 4 seconds. Pretty bad when Americans are too lazy to turn a sharpener by hand. I'm shaking my head now!

This reminds me of an old bumper sticker put out by automotive unions.
