+1 on the RoboGrip. Someone gave them to me for a Christmas present over 10 years ago when they first came out, when they were on a commercial with Bob Villa that you saw probably 20 times per week on TV. I knew they were gimmicky junk when I opened them. They had the receipt in the gift, but didn't want to hurt the person's feelings, because they were so excited with a smile from ear to ear when I opened them. So I kept them. It was a two piece set, I wish I would have exchanged them for something else. They have sat in a tool drawer for over 10 years, and have never been used.

But like coljar said, every once and a while I look at them and remember and smile. So I guess the memories are worth the 15 bucks or whatever they costs....

or these. Battery powered adjustable wrench. Black and decker.

The problem with these was the power - mine has a 9V battery in and works a bit better.

My vote goes to this: http://www.diy.com/nav/fix/handtools-storage-workwear/handtools/wrenches/Mac-Allister-Adjustable-Ratcheting-Socket-Wrench-12518586

It was such a bad tool you can still find plenty of them unused on eBay.

I've never heard a good thing about them. Wall hanger tool

I couldn't agree with this less. As said by others above, it has its uses.
Would I reach for it before a prybar, IF the nail head is already sticking well out? No.
But there is NO other nail puller capable of pulling a nail by the shank only, when the head tears off. On gripping power alone, I often use this to pull things that nothing else has a chance on.

Last time I used it on rusted carpet staples. No problem, and I didn't even need to dig under them to leave space for a lever to lift.

My dad bought me a set for Christmas too. He thought they were great. I used them once or twice and pinched my hand each time I used them. Because they were from my dad, I didn't have the heart to toss them. I was finally able to get rid of them a couple years back at the wifes garage sale. I put like $2.00 each on them and were the first thing that sold. :headscrat Go figure.

I KNOW!! That damn 20 mm space is just sitting there laughing at me. We both know I'm going to fill it, too. :willy_nil

Thats funny-I went to the parts store specifically for a 20mm socket. Can't remember the usage but had to have it that day.

Clench wrench hands down. That thing sucked.

Been waiting for this gem to show up here. The ones my sister gave me are still shiny and new. Thank God the modern ratcheting wrench appeared!
I can't believe people still get sucked into buying these things.

This tool (pic) is awful. Supposedly a one hand or automatic adjusting vice grip.

Although they're not great, I have found uses for these...
Gator grip socket: Spin off a bunch of small wingnuts with a power driver.
Robogrips: Tighten up / break loose garden hoses and sprayers when you have either the knurled or "fake hex" hose fittings. I have a mishmash of hoses, so this actually works fairly well.

Anything in the home line of Black and Decker is pure **** and has been for the past 50 years

Wrong.

I've got a 6" 1/3HP bench grinder that I abuse that has been going strong for at least 12 years now.

Same goes for the circ-saw I've got...
