Haven't heard that name in a loooong time. I wonder if Charlie Owens still owns the company? I know of the lift company and waaay back then, I was told they were a medium grade lift. That info is really old and probably not accurate anymore.

I have the 12000e I believe. I have set it up twice. I took it with me when I moved. I learned from the first install and did some things different the second time. I built stands that pivit around under the cross frame to set tongue jacks on. I won't get under the vehicle until I have done this. Very stable this way. All in all it has been and continues to be a good lift. I have also built heavy large jack stands(not the red ones in the background in the picture) that will support the vehicle while it is lifted, then I lower the hoist and I can do brake jobs etc.

excellent. Thank you. Do you mind clarifying several points to me:

1 What do you mean by:I built stands that pivit around under the cross frame to set tongue jacks on. You are supporting crossmembers preventing them from accidental fall? Does Worth lift feel that much insecure?

2. Worth says their lifts are free standing design. Which is - they are supposed to be stable without concrete anchors. What is the post wall thickness? I am not sure, if "inside the post" slides are strong by design

3. Any plastic parts inside or on the slides?

4. How much are safeties engaged on the locks? It has post welded "steps" for safeties, right?

5. Is it Worth lift in this video?

As it looks awfully like it, but Worth refused to confirm it. :lol_hitti

1. No the lift did not feel the least bit insecure, but I felt the brake system was optimistic, and now I have no worries.
2. I don't know about the model you are looking at but the 12000e is not freestanding without the correct anchors in concrete. The columns are 1/8 with six bends making a U. 1/2 plate on each end. My shop is an old horse barn with a thin floor that slopes. I cut the floor and poured reinforced piers tied to a 24" square piece of 3/8 plate for each column. Dead level and easy to get square, then I welded the columns to the plate.
3. No plastic.
4. No safeties in my mind, the cylinder locks but if the chain breaks you have only the friction breaks on each column to hold it.
5. I don't think so.
I think I know where you are going here. Save your money and get a good lift and bolt it to a adaquate concrete foundation. That is the safe way to do it.

Thank you.

No, I am going $1000 plus $500 shipping difference between Backyard Buddy and Worth Lifts of the same lifting capacity. BYB is $4500 plus $550 shipping. Worth is $3525 delivered.

I really like BYB's over the posts sleeves. Solid post is solid post. That's why I am curious about Worth having it inside the post. And appreciate your feedback.
