I just moved into a new home and bought tiles for garage floor. My painters over-ordered 4 gallons of flat paint which I have no use for. I am going to be using my two-car garage mostly as a storage room and place for kids to hang out. The garage is about 50 years old and had lots of stains but I cleaned it with laundry detergent, Rust-Oleum cleaner/degreaser for concrete, and pressure washer and it looks pretty good. I know you can barely see the floor through the tiles, but I figured it would be good time to clean the floor while garage is relatively empty (it will fill up quickly with three young kids). I thought there may be some benefits of using paint to cut down on concrete dust and make it easier to maintain/clean and to make the room feel less like a garage. If painting has some benefit should I put it down directly, or should I put something else down first? The paint is a light grey color that goes well with garage. If it makes any difference I tested the moisture in garage (plastic and duct tape) and there was no moisture, and when I was considering epoxy I was told by the contractor he didn't think water coming up from the ground was an issue (and garage slopes down away from house - my house is at the top of a hill). Thanks in advance for any help!
