Yes it's backwards.
Call snap on. Likely they will ship you a rebuild kit for free. Worst case the kit retails for $10.

Take it apart and see what's going on inside. If you're lucky it just needs cleaning and lubrication.

I opened it up and both of the gears are broken into pieces... Guess it needs some help.

Got this Snap On at a yard sale for a dollar. The problem is that it doesn't turn. I'm assuming this is going to need to be rebuilt. How much is it to rebuild it? Is it worth doing? Thanks, Ryan.
