Worthington Feather Valve

Hello, gang, my name is Pete, I am. Mine interpreter at an underground iron mine in Minnesota. On the surface we have a large Worthington air compressor the powered all pneumatic equipment underground. I am trying to find out what CFM this machine will put out at 120 psi. I hope the photos will give you an idea of what we have, and that perhaps someone can answer my question. This compressor has not been used since 1963. Thanks for your help.

500 Horse, that thing is a Beast. The CFM will vary with the pressure, more pressure equals less CFM.

I don’t have a background in compressors but with a 500 Horse motor driving it the CFM must be a lot. Extrapolating from the compressor in my small garage; if I recall correctly, 2 hp gives me 6 CFM at 40 pounds.

One swag is that a compressor will put out ~ 4cfm per horsepower. So you could guess 2000 cfm.
