Check to see how much the replacement bulbs are. I got a "good deal" on some lights like this once and found out later the bulbs were about $70.00 ea. and were hard to get. May not be the same case with yours but I would check before I bought them.

In addition to the comments by others about the size of the fixtures as they relate to the size of your garage; what about the yellow color of the light and the time it takes for the fixtures to "warm up"?

I personally have never seen High Pressure Sodium lights used with such a low ceiling.

If these are the really big round ones that are used in the shops.

They take a while to fire up. If its cold in there they take a longgg time.

Make sure that the Ballast voltage is something you have available.
A lot of them need 277 or even 480 volts.

those fixtures are for ceiling heights from 20ft to 40ft. The are not hard to find and can be had by the pallet for practically nothing. They only cost a hundred and something brand new. They have a 10-20 minute restrike time (if you turn lights off then back on), and a 3-5 minute initial warmup time. You dont want them

With a 12ft ceiling, just get a ton of 4ft T8 flourescents.

Scarf em up. For $20 a piece..buy them all. Try them - they will work fine even with a 12 ft ceiling - although bright. Sodium bulbs are cheap and last longer than MH. If you don;t like em - you can sell em for $50 each w/o problem

Sodium is the orange light used on many outdoor lights, such as "street" lights. Our aircraft maintenance hangars at work have used sodium for years, and it was very annoying. Recently they changed over to MH bulbs. Apparently there is a MH bulb that can be directly screwed into a Sodium fixture, and that is what they have been doing. What a huge improvement!!!!!!!!! Much brighter, white light.

Those fixtures will not be worth a **** in a 12 ft ceiling. You will lose 2 ft of useful height as the fixtures will hang down at least 2 ft from the ceiling. The light is so focused that you will have dark spots. Best for a garage of your size is 4 ft t8's.

If anyone is looking for these High Bay lights.

I have them by the pallet.

Our facility just changed over to more effecient lighting so that they could get a kickback from PG&E.

They are all in working condition and clean.
