This is my first post but I've been reading around here for a while.
Im a John Deere Tech student and in school currently.

Last night I had the opportunity to trade my Snap-On Heritage tripple bank KRA2318 in Royal Blue for a Snap-On Classic 96 tripple bank KRA2418 WITH stainless work top, bassicly even trade! BUT, after driving 100 miles to swap, when I pull up at his house, I quickly realize that its PURPLE :wtf:

I noticed it did have a little rust on the bottom of the case under the paint. Dont know if it will continue to grow and spred into a mess.
In all the pics he sent me, I thought it was the exact color of mine and he never once stated any difference.

I told the guy I'd have to sleep on it and decide somthing today.

What would you guys do? I could really use the extra space but dont always wanna hang my head in shame of owning a purple toolbox.

Im proud of my Royal Blue Heritage though. Its in perfect condition. It looks awsome and its still the biggest in the shop so far.

Would you guys suggest keeping my heritage untill I get out of school and trade it in on a royal blue classic 96?

I would love a purple box. The only problem with a purple box is that it may hurt the resale value. People want red, black, green. I honestly would probably pick either purple or yellow if given a choice.

If yours is in great shape keep it for now. No need to trade your great condition box for someone's rusty box even if it is bigger. Make do with what you have, you probably won't be happy with the purple so waiting is my advice.

I agree with this advice. Keep yours, it is rust free and has a known history. And you will probably always have that nagging disappointment that you have a purple box. . . best of luck with tech school, whatever you decide.

gReves, it sounds like you are pretty attached to your current, blue box. If you are already questioning the purple box.........

You should keep the blue box. I think that this will make you the happiest at the end of the day.

rust is a no-no. but color? if it's a good deal, i wouldn't even blink an eye.

i got a killer deal on my 3 bay Matco, and it was gray, wouldn't be my first choice for MY tool box, but what the heck, $$ talks.

I'd have to get a really good deal on it . . . . . . . . so I could justify repainting it. Otherwise, I'd wait for a box more to your liking, or you could consider buying a second box that matches your current one.

Do what you like, but it is over 10,000 cubic inches bigger and more than twice the list price. If the rust is bad and bothers you, just forget about it. If you dislike the color and will be upset over it every time you see it, forget about it. If you are in it for the most box for the money, you've found a screaming deal. Just do what you want and don't look back. You'll feel better if you don't spend your life regretting your decisions. Do what you really want to do.

Seems like a no brainer, bigger box. What are we 8 year olds. Who cares what color your box is???

I agree - color don't matter - what matters is layout and size, and if the purple box suits your needs I'd say get it, regardless of what color it is.

Nothing wrong with purple. Now if it was lavender then I would run away as fast as I could :lol_hitti

Just tell people you are a ********* Baltimore Ravens or Minnesota Vikings fan. I personally love the color of those Ravens Snap On boxes.

purple is a hell of a lot better than lime green. never understood why someone would want a lime green tool box. Giant eyesore in my opinion.

if i was in the market for a new box, i think i'd be purple. :pimpflash

but the pink one would match my pink matco creeper.

the purple would match the roll bar padding in my truck,
but the pink would match the pinstripes and lettering on the truck

decisions decisions

I love the green (lime) and the Mica green as well. I had a Mica Tool Wagon. That bright lime is da bomb
