Wouldn't this stuff be cool in somebody's garage?

I had no intention of doing this, but I ended up with this Stihl display tonight on an online auction. I'm trying my best to figure out a way to work it into my shop, but I don't see how I can make it happen. Let's hear what you guys would do with it!

That would be cool, or at least the lighted signs would be. Are they freestanding or do they have to be bolted to a wall? Lots of pegboard / slat wall hooks? :dunno:

Out of curiosity what does an entire setup like that go for at auction?

Dang nice. Did you get everything pictured? Looks like a power head in the back. I'd say the first thing is figure out how the slat walls are attached. If they are a free standing unit great, but if they are bolted to the walls. Eh.. I'd wager a guess that the reason it went cheap is because no one wanted to fool with moving it. Especially in the winter time.

No, just the display, the hooks and the shelves. I would think I could have it broken down in a couple hours.

If you have the room in your shop and like peg hook storage go for it. Otherwise I'd just take the lighted signs off the top, hang in the garage and give or sell the rest to the first person interested.

Is it standard slat wall? Hell, the fixtures, if it is, are easily worth that much.

Since no one's told you this yet, I'll do it......you ****! $100?!? You **** bad.

Those are commercial store fixtures. The "uprights" are U Shaped and are usually bolted to the wall.

For $100 you do ****. That's a lot of money BEFORE the signage. A free standing version is called an end cap. A double sided version is called a gondola.

The only issue using them in a shop is the toe kick / shelf at the bottom. If you are bolting the channels to the wall you might be able to cut the toe kick off and use the channels and slatwall behind a work bench .

Cheers

Jim

That is for the fixtures, hold and accessories only. Nothing that is on the shelves come with it. The IH sign brought $280 on the auction. I'm kind of an IH guy myself so here is one of my signs you might like
