Sounds like a scammer at work to me. This time of the year they seem to come out of the woodwork from all over the place.

This is very weird. I'm interested to find out what is going on here, as in, what the scam is.

Somebody bid $10K and just stiff him for the payment. According to Fleabay it's OK to do that a few times a month.

I can see your reasoning on this...but at the same time, what if you lost a truly earnest buyer? I have very little feedback on ebay b/c I rarely purchase from there...I think I've only ever purchased 2 things but have bid on countless more before losing the auction. So b/c I have little to no feedback/buying experience I'd get booted from your auction...? :headscrat

If I was selling a high dollar (like $5,000 of screwdrivers :headscrat) item, yes. Sorry.

However, it's pretty easy to buy less expensive items and earn good feedback. Once you have 5 to 10 positive (and no negative) feedback comments, it's pretty clear that you're OK.

hi guys, im the owner of the 175 pc set. i did not get paid, and the reason it was relisted is someone stole the auction and hacked my account. with that said when they were relisted and were at 13,000.00 i was the high bidder. the guy i out bid on it was the so called "winner" of my auction. i am in no way a scam artist, and worked with ebay to try and find the guy who did this. the account they were listed under was most lickly hacked as well. i still have the tools. and the guy who tryed to screw me will most lickly never be found as per ebay. thanks for takeing an intrest in the auction and for a couple of you on here that said used tools only 8 of them have been used the rest brand new.

Very unfortunate what happened with your auction. I've got what some would call a small "shitload" but nowhere near what you were selling! Have to ask, if you love the hard handles so much, why would you want to sell them? I admittedly have more hard handled screwdrivers than I really need but I doubt I'll ever sell any of them. If the reason is nobody's business but yours, I totally understand.
Best of luck on your next auction attempt. Just a thought but maybe it would generate a bit more $$ and more real bidders if you split them up into smaller lots.

well its like yhis I LOVE THE HUNT!!!! I just enjoy going to shows and looking on ebay, and trading with pepole. im glad they didnt go but if they did i was going to do an orange or green handled set. if i do sell them i will brake them up into smaller sets. i don't care that i did not get paid as ebay refunded me my money (listing fee and final value fee) but what gets me upset was trying to rip someone off. the scammer had taken the last pic down and put in his email and wanted you to e-mail before you bid. thats why all of those bids were taken down that were most likely pepole that would have paid. i bid it up high so nobdy would make him an offer off ebay and loose there money, till ebay took the auction down

If you do go with green, good luck! I'm sure you know green stuff can get pricey! Hell, most of mine is orange and thats expensive enough for my tastes. I also like "the hunt" but I'm kinda getting to the point now where i just want to fill out my set and be done with it....Well, I suppose I'll never be DONE with buying tools :bounce:

How did we kite the owner of that screw driver set over to this board to share his side of the story?

I am always impressed at our collective Jedi powers.
