I couldn't find anything I liked to help the boys keep their balls (sports balls that is) from rolling around the garage.

Materials needed:

1) Simple wood pieces for the top/bottom frame. I used some 1x2 strips and window moulding. Side trim pieces optional.
2) Paracord or rope.
3) 1 wood screw threaded eye bolt.
4) black paint.
5) Tarp straps.

Instructions:

1) Pick a corner.
2) Build a simple top and bottom frame.
3) Add some side trim pieces (optional).
4) Paint the frame and the wall black.
5) Drill some holes in the inside of the bottom frame to accept the paracord or rope as your Ball Wrangler Bottom. You could build a more substantive bottom, but the paracord method let's water drain to the garage floor.
6) Attach an eye bolt to the back corner, level with the lower frame.
7) Weave the paracord/rope through the holes in your bottom frame and the eye bolt.
8) Drill holes in the front of the top and bottom frame to accept your tarp straps.
9) Install your rubber tarp straps.

(See pics for more info).

We just did a meeting on eye safety and how dangerous bungee cords are. I threw all mine out as soon as I got home. I was always extremely careful using them, but I could not live with myself if something happened to my wife or kids.

Guys, do yourselves and your families a favour and get rid of those things. You can buy shock cord by the foot, drill through the frame and knot it to hold it in place.

I don't want to be a safety nazi, but it breaks my heart reading about kids getting hurt by stuff like this.

Great idea! I found the ball rack for the fasttrak stuff on clearance, so I use that but this is a great DIY project to keep everything in order!

Kudos on your use of the hooks to hold sport bags right next to the ball rack. Also a really good idea!!
