I have wrecked a couple few car batteries but I been good about damage and loss with my tool batteries especially considering g the use they get.
I didn't think to get a pic of this lodged in a golf cart against the exhaust. We drove it an hour after an oil check/fill and must have missed it. The thing so stuck I had to drive the cart a little to warm it to get it loose.
I attacked it with the trusty 4 1/2 grinder mostly and got it apart without cutting thru steel and it even works. It wasn't like it was new but it's difficult to replace, part of a system we use a lot. I got 5 of the lights, battery doesn't need to be new, it worked, I miss it when 1 goes lame.

Wow that looks ugly. Sounds like the casing did it’s job though. Would put it back in the rotation. Maybe later on you can swap the casing with a dead out of warranty battery if the ugliness bothers you.

i haven't been here super long, but a cosmetic thing doesn't hit me as something that sberry is going to spend a lot of time worrying about.

I am about function first. I don't mind it being decent but these are fussy buggers and they are old. Their cash value is,, they are well depreciated. .

I have several dead v28 batteries. I can send you the case of one of them if it would work.

Mr sberry polishes his tools with a grinder .
He got tools to get the job done ...
I think they take bit of melting or light fluids better than hard fall or being run over .
I damaged the charge indicator dropping one and had one killed when got clipped by the fork lift . Better effort tools do have pretty durable casings .

You are lucky the lithium battery didn't ignite and burn down the whole golf cart.

Thanks. I have several also. Ign,, maybe a couple othe guys bought some from a guy on here, we're you in on that? I bought half a dozen.

I bought all my replacements on eBay. Even though I have a ton of newer Milwaukee stuff my v28 tools are still used weekly. The hammer drill and sawzall are indestructible.
