Bored tonight so I though I'd share the little jig I made this afternoon for creating Wrench Coils. Needed to remake a couple coils since I've added onto my wrench sets.
I've used the broom handle method before, but can be a pain to hold the wire and get a nice even wrap. So this is my solution.
Chunk of 3/4" EMT that I slotted the end on. Makes it easy to wrap a nice tight coil. I use either 12/2 or 14/2 wire (which ever I have scrap cuts of at the time) Final coil springs back a bit and ends up about 1/8" larger diameter. Perfect size for my wrenches ranging from 8-15mm and up to 1-1/4" SAE
