I tried the search function....

I need some wrench holders. Last year I ordered the Tekton metric set and it came with one...

I see lots of 'similar' items on Amazon....In my old age I'm learning cheap is sometimes too cheap.

Suggestions?

And I'm also looking for one of those roll up cloth holders. I have enough duplicates to have a set stay in my jeep. I plan to make a shallow pull out drawer under the back seat.

Suggestions?

If you're just looking for a traditional wrench holder the ernst are pretty sick.

Gripper or non gripper, I use non gripper at work because my box doesnt move and I'm using the wrenches more often. At home the gripper ones are sweet

"Gripper"? "Non Gripper"?

Tekton sells the plastic organizers separately. -->
https://www.tekton.com/wrenches/wrench-organization

They are made by Ernst and rebranded as Tekton. You missed a 1/2 price sale on Ernst. -->
https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=467368

But you can get Ernst direct from the manufacturer or on Amazon. -->
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002SR03A/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Tekton also has some good wrench rolls.

https://www.tekton.com/wrench-pouches?quantity=1&color=black-(in)&tool-count=15-tool

Not to mention, Epstein has a nice USA made roll.

Gearwrench has a wrench rack that you can change the holders to either direction. Myself, I just switched over to the HF tool holder with the magnetic base and plastic clips. Wrenches fit in the clips and between them.

For under $8 they're almost making you take them. This was my birthday gift to myself a few weeks ago:

(I was just goofing around to eyeball capacity/spacing - haven't really "packed" it yet)

I really like Tekton's wrench rack - got an extra one when I got my set from them.

That bottom one is Tekton's? That would make for a perfect roll for my jeep

For the wedge-shaped wrench racks, it's Protoco or nothin' for me.

http://www.protoco.com/Products/Products.htm

I tried the Ernst, but I didn't like the angle at which they held the wrenches. I keep my wrenches in a 2" deep drawer and the Ernst racks held the wrenches at too high an angle to make them usable once the wrenches got larger than 7/8".

Hmm, wrench holders, I kind of like the ones that the Astro flank-bite wrenches came in. And the wrenches are darn nice too.

https://www.astrotools.com/8pc-extr...er-flank-bite-combination-wrench-set-sae.html

The Tekton site lists some wrench pouches/rolls, but I don't see that double-row one from the pic there. All made in China though.

And the 'under $8' comment refers to the Made-in-USA 7-pocket tool roll from Epstein.

If you decide to try the Ernst offerings I would suggest looking at Summit Racing. They seem to have the best everyday prices.

I use the Protoco racks and Snap-on KRA-15. They are more space efficient than Ernst.

I don't use tool rolls much. But, I do keep my wrenches that are kept in the Jeep in a roll. Snap-on wrenches have to be kept in a Snap-on wrench roll. Er, they call it a "kit bag". Actually, I got the Snappy wrench roll for a little of nothing. If I were spending money, I would buy a canvas roll. They seem to be tougher than vinyl.

I like the Ernst gripper type of racks. They hold things in place pretty well. The regular racks are cheaper, but still nice.

I had made some wrench pouches years ago now, denim and canvas, I moved away from them once I had started using a tool box (for & at work, faster to use racks). cant be beat for portability though.

The problem I have run into is the wrench storage options dont really offer comprehensive options, IE they make a rack that holds 15 wrenches, 7-21, but no place for the 22-24 other then laying flat in the drawer. I've yet to find a one size fits all set-up that will fit in a shallow drawer (1.75"-2.5" height).

Above it says the Ernst rails keep wrenches too high to clear a shallow drawer but that has not been my experience. Combos are Tekton up to 1" adn 22mm but I also have Kobalt 23 and 24mm wrenches. Rails are tekton/ernst and I clear a shallow drawer in a KRL722 which is 2" or less

I looked at all kinds of wrench organizers recently as I'm planning out the organization for my new tool box that is arriving next month. I have a pretty large amount of wrenches I need to fit in a drawer that measures 49"x24½" with a clearance hight of about 2⅜" before contact with the drawer above. I need to fit wrenches up to 1½" in the drawer and my SK set up to 1" on the included rack will JUST fit so I needed something different. I will have two (maybe three) SAE sets, one or two up to 1¼" and the other up to 1½". A set of metric up to 22mm, stubby sets up to 15/16" and 19mm as well as some GW ratchet wrenches.

The Ernst low profile racks were the "best" option available in terms of clearance but they don't have enough spots for my larger sets and I'm not a fan of the one rack being reversed. I couldn't find any other option for low profile ones.

ToolGrid and the Toolbox Widget are also neat options but would be too tall for my needs. Ultimately I decided to go the custom route as good friend of mine has a 3D printer. I am in the process of designing a set of modular racks that I can assemble exactly how I need.

This may be a dumb question but I don’t use wrenches everyday so….do Ernst or other wrench racks work for double open end wrenches too? My DOEs aren’t nearly as long as any of my combination wrenches so I’m having issues efficiently storing them so they are easy to access. Just laying them in the drawer is sucking up lots of space.

Ernst sell a 'stubby' wrench holder. it's basically straight, instead of 'V' shaped.

I like the oem tools 35 wrench rail. Only downside is your smallest wrenches do not fit great, we are talking about small. I have multiple sets on each rail. One for mm and one for sae. You can even cut them down to make multiple sets..

Awesome! Will those work well with all sizes up to 1 1/8 and 26mm? Sorry to be a bother, I just don’t have any knowledge about them.
So I got mine out to look. First, what I normally keep in the rack, IMG_9741.jpg
Then the biggest wrenches I have handy. The 27 fits, but it's probably just the biggest thing that's going to fit. Whether yours fit or not is going to depend on what the beams are like. IMG_9740.jpg

Another vote for Ernst. They are excellent. If you want to try something different, look at the Ernst wrench tower. That holds a ton of wrenches and is really nice if you take your wrenches away from your toolbox to work.

Yeah I had the same issue so I got a new box that will be here next month.

I have Tekton roll ups. I do like them, as I move the wrench sets around, either taking them out into the driveway, or to my sons. They velco closed and there's a velcro flap that covers the top so wrenches can't slip out of the roll. All of the sets in the photo below (regulars, shorties, and flex head ratchet heads) fit in a single drawer of one of my Kennedy boxes. Sets were pretty then, that photo is from when they were brand new.

I can see eventually putting these in holders and tucking the rolls away for future mobility.

I have a bunch of loose wrenches, mix and match. Thanks for this thread because I'll get a few holders to better arrange the loose wrenches in their drawer.

I tried the Alien Space Savers for my pliers, sockets, screwdrivers, socket extensions, and wrenches, I am really happy with the flexibility these offer.
