Wrench identification,please

I picked up a wrench at an antique store-double open end, some odd symbols on the back and stamped:"Tire Carrier Wrench". Actually, my wrench looks just like this one, but I only paid 50 cents. Any help id'ing it will be appreciated. Thanks.

I think you've got an old wrench from a Studebaker truck designed to lower the spare from where it was stored under the bed of the truck.

Strictly a guess, but 1940s-1950s...
