The best part is they are easily mobile. When I need wrenches I pull the rolll and I can lay it over the fender, valve cover, ground, bench, etc. Super easy to use, and always organized inside the roll from biggest to smallest.

I "displayed" all my wrenches for 7 years and it took up way too much space. Not to mention it was difficult to transport multiple wrenches (or every wrench for that matter). Having them "on display" is just vanity in my opinion. Having them in a roll allows me to store way more wrenches in my box than before, in a much smaller area. Once again, how does that not define a "storage solution"?

I'm a DIY type guy these days. However I have three different toolboxes (garage for automotive/metal type work, 16X24 shed for woodworking, and my truck for any mobile type work). The garage and shed have the craftsmen "sort a wrench" with Ernst racks for the larger stuff. The truck has rolls (one SAE and one Metric). Each have their place.

I love these racks. Being that I can be pretty **** about my wrenches, I couldn't stand them being stacked where I couldn't see the name and size easily once the drawer is pulled open. I wouldn't be able to stand it regardless of the space it saved.

I have some of these racks in my box and cart now. Once I get to where I can afford the box I want, most all my wrenches will be in this type holder.

Opening the second drawer down from the top on a Snap-on KRL 1032 or 1033 and seeing it full of wrenches organized with those type racks makes me want to :drool:

Sort A Tool and Wrench it to me I think are the same wrench racks going by the sort a tool pic that was posted. The Wrench it to me holds 76 how nany does the sort a tool hold.

I agree... I'm pretty **** aout the organization of all my tools. I want to be able to get what I need quickly an notice when something is missing. I'll post pics when my racks arrive.

Thinking about ordering these.. whats the difference between the one for large wrenches and the one for small wrenches? I have sets that go from small to large and don't want to split them up because they make 2 different racks.

My pair of KRA15A racks showed up today, so I plan to finally get my wrench drawer organized tonight... yet another expense thanks to this forum :rolleyes:

I bought 2 sets of each. In retrospect, most wrenches up to 18mm / 3/4" fit great in the KRA15A, and you can fit more of them. I probably did not need any of the KRA22A racks.

I cut about 1" off of each rack to get them to fit inside my drawers. So they come about 1" longer than you see here.

How large is large? The KRA15As work pretty well for everything up to 3/4" or about 19/20 mm. I bought 2 of each, but wish I bought more KRA15As.

I'll have to try again. I picked those up in January and without opening the package did a test fit and had some trouble. I'll give it a shot again tonight.

I use zippered bags,simmilar to bank bags,to hold my wrenches,got them at HD or lowes,they lay flat and do not take much room

Those are different. I have 2 sets of those ernst ones. The snapon are both straight. The ernst have 1 straight rail and 1 angled. Need both to be straight in red like shown a few posts ago.

I'm a fan of what they call the "Wrench boss". I've seen several pics of um' on here and they seem really nice, plus, it easily organizes all your odds-and-ends wrenches in the most common sizes you use. They seem relatively reasonably priced for the large size/footprint but, really don't take up much space (I don't *think*) once loaded. You need to dedicate 2 drawers to wrenches in your toolbox though.

I don't have a toolbox yet (well, a REAL toolbox) so I don't have them but, they're at the top of my list when I get one. I'll see if I can find some pics on here and edit them into this post. They will be other users so I may just direct them to the post to avoid 'taking credit' or 'stealing' their pics.

Just checked on my KRA series top box and in the slim drawers the KRA22A's don't fit, at least not with the drawer liner in place.

Ditto on that. I hate when this happens. I got ridd of all of my magnetic tool holders for this reason.

After failing to fit the Ernst rails in the hf drawers, and with the craftsman foam dividers being much too far apart I decided to make my own. I took 1/2" foam and cut it myself. It took about a hour to do both.

It's not as pretty as the snap-on/Ernst rails, and not as easy as the craftsman foam but I'm able to fit 36 long pattern combo wrenches in a HF 22" drawer with room to spare!
In my SAE drawer I was able to get up to a 1-1/4" to fit.


Duralast 7mm to 24mm on the left and Gearwrench 7mm-24mm on the right.

Slightly off topic, but does anyone flip the 9/16 and the 15mm around in the rack so it is opposite the rest of the wrenches? I do it as a quick reference. Just makes it easier to grab a wrench without reading the size.

So is it better to get the small one or the larger one?

I have small wrenches from 6mm going all the way up to 32mm... is there a need for both of those racks or just stick with the smaller one... what is the biggest wrench that the smaller snap on rack can fit?

I am using the smaller rack up to 32mm, but they are cozy, if you want them to not touch each other the larger one may be necessary, but the fit is fine with the smaller one and a 32mm wrench. I had to put the 34mm and up flat in my drawer though because of the height factor. I am talking about the 2nd drawer in a KRL722 for reference.

Never really used the rail designs.. always used the ones that hold say 15 wrenches and you can pull the entire thing out.. This should be good now to be staionary!
