Wrench organizer including large sizes

Can anyone recommend a wrench organizer that accommodates large wrenches up to 30 mm? Either that or how do y'all store your large wrenches that don't fit in a standard wrench organizer? I could go with wrench rails if need be.

I use wrench rails in tool box drawer. Red magnetic set from harbor freight or Ernst will work.

I'm not really aware of the difference between an "organizer" and rails.
The "rails" I use are marketed as "organizers". I'm just sayin'

I have that set of rails. Not only does it handle a set of 6-32mm it even fits the 10-19 extra long set.

I make my own out of electrical wire. Wrapped around a 1/2 inch or 3/4 dowel, broomstick,etc. Instantly customizable for length, could use different color coated wire,etc and reasonably cheap. I "think" most of these are 12 g wire.

I bought some widgets when they were on kickstarter. I use them for stubby wrenches and a couple other oddball wrenches.
I agree they are a bit overpriced for what they are, but it is handy to build the size you want. I don't find them as usefull as the website suggests.

I also have both wrench organizers pictured above. I should probably build some coil ones, I still have some random wrenches in piles in various drawers. The cheap magnetic HF ones are my current set for large wrenches.

That's the way I did mine, I was trying to maximize space and standing the wrenches straight on their sides is what it took to get everything in one drawer(kinda), I just needed something to hold them that way. In a Series 1 HF 44 inch box, in a shallow drawer, I go from 7 or 8 up to 32mm, only skipping 31mm. SAE goes from 1/4" up to 1-1/4" with no skips. I had to put my larger SAE wrenches from 1-3/16" to 1-7/8" up top under the lid. I also moved my line wrenches over to another smaller drawer that holds my adjustable and other oddball wrenches.

If you dont care about scratches, you can buy a regular 16 wrench holder, then the stamped steel harbor freight one to hold the bigger stuff. It holds my 32mm just fine, but scratches the chrome a lot.

Another option is the harbor freight plastic rail system, I have another set up to 32mm on those. Cut off any excess.

Universal means it fits everything and does fit into anything...but can be workable. This frustration pushed me into designing and building my own Wrench Racks years ago. They are specific to each set unfortunately.



Tool Box Widget appears to be the most flexible and adaptable....but I do like the
@alinc100 Wire solution!!!

I looked at Toolbox Widget and like the modular design but it didn't put the wrenches close enough together, for one, to fit as many in one drawer as I needed. Also, I'm also not exactly fond of organizers that stand wrenches straight up in a drawer partly because I can't as easily see the sizes but mostly because my larger wrenches won't even fit like that in a 2-1/2" deep drawer and Toolbox Widget's angled wrench options just cost too much for as many wrenches as I have. Those are the reasons I went with OEMTools wrench rails. I believe they are the same thing as Snap-on's KRA15A wrench organizers.

My box is also 18" deep..a Waterloo. I could most likely tidy up a bit, organize and shuffle to neaten it up a bit ,BUT I don't wrench everyday, and I'm a one man army in my own garage so I don't have to worry about borrowing/missing....other than what I misplace all on my own. I have same Snap-on; Ernst makes look alike that do not work; too tall/fall over/spacing wrong. Snap-on ones work perfect, others imperfect copies.

You're right about Ernst. They aren't even close. They won't hold as many werenches and they are staggered with wider spacing and bigger shark's teeth for larger wrenches.

BUT OEMTools organizers I pictured in the third post this thread are the same as Snap-on. The Snap-on and OEMTools wrench racks are 2 foot long with all the same size shark's teeth and will hold 35 wrenches. Easily cut to fit your drawer and or wrench set.

I recently upgraded from the Ernst rails to the Toolbox Widget.

It bought me a lot of extra space in my toolbox. I was able to take some wrenches out of rolls, and put them in my box so they're easier to access. I have up to a 32mm wrench in my drawer.

Wait for them to go on sale, I got mine for a pretty reasonable price. It was still expensive, but to me, it was worth it.


All that said, there is now a competitor or two offering a similar modular wrench organizer system.

There are 3 different styles in that 1/4" to 1-1/4" set because the yellow and red sets only go down to 3/8, I found the black sets go down to 5/16 but they only make the 1/4 in chrome. What are you going to do?

Thanks, but I figured my drawer liner wouldn't let the magnetic rails stick. HF didn't have the regular size organizer set so I bought the stubby set. For $10 I thought wth I'll try it. Turns out it fits my regular length wrenches fine enough. Bonus: since it's a set now I need more wrenches.
