What did you think of the Mastercraft Maximums? Just curious because I own a set and I hate them, the open ends just flex around the fastener, I think I'm gonna go pick up a set of Carlyle in the states at NAPA.

There's nowhere here to get proto and SK is hard to come by also. My only tool trucks are snap on and Mac. I can order gear wrench through one of our parts suppliers and have them the same or next day. I've been using mastercraft maximum wrenches for 6 years now but its time to upgrade them.

Look in hot deals, Zorotools has 26% off sale in 2 days.

They carry both SK and Proto.

I've thought they were great for the past 6 years of use but lately been noticing the open end on the smaller wrenches will spread some and allow it to slip. But when you get the big master set on sale the deal is hard to beat.

So who actually has gear wrench non ratcheting combination wrenches and are they good. I'm looking at placing an order this week. I'm just stumped on these or the flank plus from the SO truck.

I have 48 of them and they are excellent wrenches. here's one next to a SO.

Truck branded tools come at a premium, my basic metric and SAE set are nearing 8 years of use since buying them new from the SO guy. What sold me on my set is they came with combo reversable ratcheting blue point sets free. I wasnt even in the market for a set at the time (had NAPA USA sets that got me by). Only wrench replaced are a 13mm open end during this time. Initial purchase was about $800 for the sets at the time, I don't regret buying them and they have become cheaper to me everyday I use them. If you plan on staying in a field where you use hand tools everyday choices are unlimited, if you can go your whole time wrenching with a 5 dollar playschool set without fail more power to you.

If you're getting a wrench set these days get a ratcheting set. I never use regular wrenches anymore, they just collect dust.
