Hello everybody, I am looking at adding either S shaped wrench's or half moon wrenches to my tool box. Which would be better to have? I though about just buying the metric of each S and halfmoon and not standard but would rather have metric and standard. Any opinions? Thanks.

its hard to say. if you buy the half moons, you would need the s-curve the very next day... thats how it goes for me anyway.

i would assume you are working on newer vehicles, so i would go with both sets, in metric. i have very few obstruction wrenches, and rarely need them really. when i worked on semi tractor engines, we used them more often if i remember correctly. not so much with cars and light trucks, but i am sure they could be useful if you do have them. as for one shape or the other, they are application specific, and one wont work where the other will and vice versa.

I have both half-moon and s-shaped wrenches and never use any of them. Take that for what it's worth.

I think a more flexible option is indexing wrenches:

I have both sets in SAE and Metric, I have only used them a few time in 15 years, not really worth having. The index wrenches look like a better choice.
