I'm looking for Metric extra-long double-box ratcheting wrench set, no skip sizes with the extra profile on oneside . I've only been able to find them individually from NorthernTool a $40-$90 a pop or semi-set from ATD but both skip 9&11.
Saying that, I've got the full lineup in SAE and the 8x10, before I spend close to $400 to finish making a set. Anyone know who makes what I'm looking for? Locking Flex would be a plus, but i can live without it.

The wrenches made by Kabo which include the atd, platinum tools, icon, matco, and others are only available in the size range you're seeing. They're nice wrenches and they have the reversing feature. ATD does offer some jumbo sizes currently which are larger than that range but not the missing sizes you're looking for.

There are other, less expensive, Chinese made sets that do include all the sizes with no skips. Amazon's duratec brand is among them. They're not reversing.

I can't find where on Garage Journal I saw it but I believe gearwrench is going to be releasing a new set of extra long double box ratcheting wrenches. I can't remember if they have skips but it might be worth looking around before you pull the trigger.

I think I found the ones your talking about on GW's site. It looks like no skips 6pc 8-19mm, but its still the slim profile.
I understand its like you say, they all come from one manufacturer. It just just ***** all the non-skip sets are the same slim profile, and the one I'm looking for with one side deeper isnt available with 9&11mm

Can you post a pic of the style you want with the nonslim profile? How low and how high do you want to go?

you should be able see a good example in my top post. Its nice to have the option for flush profile on onside or flip the wrench over/reverse the direction and have alittle more standoff

I've got the "Mountain" set (Kabo), I live in Europe where everything is metric. You don't need the skipped sizes, they only show up on brake bleed screws and brake line fittings and you don't need anything that long

i hear ya, just about every other "set" of sockets and wrenches have 9 & 11

That long 5 piece Kabo made set is out there in various brands like Matco, Carlyle, Icon, EZ-Red, Mountain and more. They all skip the 9mm and 11mm.

I think Richfinn shared some good wisdom. You don't really need 9 or 11 in a long version. For now anyway.

I know it is not exactly what you are looking for, but oddly this C'man set gives the 11 but skips more important sizes like 15, 16 and 18. What the heck is SBD thinking. Marketing to DIYers who dont know any better? More likely they made this set up out of what they had a large inventory of. Not much interest in the 11 so they figured they could unload them in a set for Lowes customers. IDK I'm just being cynical I guess. They look just like the MAC options, which make perfect sense. IMHO you are much better off with the Icon 5 piece set.

I'm not a fan of spline drive, if you arent either you may want to look into the Tone RMA400L set and the KTC MR15L wrenches.

Instead of double ratcheting, one end is fixed, so if you really need to give it the beans you can flip it around.

I own both, and the Tone in particular are awesome.

Thanks for posting about the Tone brand. I looked them up and they are one of the more expensive options. I saw some individual Tone wrenches going for about $100 UDS.

Patience may be your best asset right now. When the supply chains can get back more in balance maybe you can find some good options at a better price. Hopefully the Kabo and Tekton will be out there in numbers and help keep pricing down and options plentiful.

That is what I am struggling with. I want a set like this in SAE and I do not want to spend big bucks. I do not have an immediate need. Like most I am projecting in to the future needs. Heck I would certainly consider a good used set. On ebay all I see are used Mountain Metric that are mostly broken. Sold for parts or repair. They still want good $ for a broken wrench. I do not get that. Especially if you are not sure what is wrong with it and if you can get the parts needed to repair it.

Those KTC wrenches look sweeeeet. Unfortunately, it looks like they're only available individually and they're about $100 per wrench.

Neither the KTC or the tone are available in SAE of course which is fine for the OP (and many people) but isn't ideal for me.

Gearwrench has a full set of these but they're not reversing and they don't have the ring like the OP wants.

This is metric and only 4 sizes. I am looking for SAE. Not too bad if all you work on are Japanese cars. $50+ per wrench plus is too rich for my blood.

It does say make an offer but I would guess they wont let it go for under $200 total cost. It is shipping from Japan. May be a good deal for the right person. Thanks for sharing it.
