What is everyone's favorite method of wrench storage? I am looking for something inexpensive, clean looking, and functional. Does anyone have any home-made holders they would like to show off? :)

Most of mine are stored in a manner similar to this
SAE%20wrenches%20small.JPG

Metric%20wrench%20drawer%20small.JPG

I should update my pictures those because these are from over 6 months ago and a lot has changed.

Ernst holders available at the best price I could find at Summit racing:
http://store.summitracing.com/egnse...S=1&Ntt=ernst&searchinresults=false&N=700+115
They work well and a 15 wrench organizer is only $5.95

:+1: I have been using more and more of the ernst grippers... can get them at local hardware store for 4-7 bucks each.... they are available in multiple sizes, and different directions so that you can fit more wrenches in a drawer with out wasted space.... they also hold the wrenches in tight enough that you can grab the whole rack and go with out them moving all over the place

I use these

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_...&+Tool+Storage&sName=Tool+Storage+Accessories

one for my regular combo wrenches and one for my gearwrench ratcheting wrenches...work great...

then again the only wrenches i really have are combo wrenches and some line wrenches...which are scattered next to the aforementioned holder...

I have these as well for my Craftsman raised panels and my GW ratcheting box wrenches. Longer wrenches won't fit. I think these pack the most wrenches per square inch of any wrench organizers I've seen, and they are cheap at around $10. At first I didnt think I'd like having metric and SAE mixed like this, but I found that I like being able to just grab one of these trays and having 6-19 mm and 3/8 to 3/4 all available, especially with the mix of fasteners on some of my GM cars.

i use the ernst wrench holders without the grippers the kind that you just sit your wrenches on i dont like the grippers cause they will mar your chrome and its harder to pull a wrench out if your using them all day like i do

how do they stay on their side? and howd u make it? its nice

Yeah- it uses really strong magnets to hold the wrenches in place, both vertically and horizontally, meaning the wrenches stay in placve when the drawer is slammed, as well as staying on their sides to maximize storage.

I also made the "floor" out of thin alu sheet, with dedicated small compartments for each size of wrenches.

If you look carefully, you can see the metric wrenches and their sizes on one end, with the standard sizes on the other. Easy to keep them straight.

Hmm.. Had recently purchased some vintage wrenches from eBay and after a brief cleaning I want to preserve them. I was too lazy so had used this things I got from a friend which is used to stock fire arms. Just applied the solution on the wenches and packed then up in foil paper. After 2 years when I opened them I found them in excellent condition. Still very pleased with result and the solution so very cheap.

It looks like the summit package at 8.95 has 4 rails to hold 40 wrenches and the Snap-on at 12.95 is only 2 rails.
