Wright 1/2" Ratchet Disassembly Question

I have an older Wright ratchet with the olive tootsie roll handle. I removed the snap ring to clean the head. the complete assembly came out with no issue, but the selector dial appears to me mounted in someway to the head that makes it non removable.

Does anyone know if the selector dial comes out? No reason to remove it, so I don't plan to try, but curiosity has the best of me.

Interesting, all the Wright rats Ive taken apart, the selector was attached to the guts. Must be an older one.

On all of the Wrights that I own (going back to the 1960s-70s), the internals don't come apart readily. About all that you can do to them, is soak them in solvent to get rid of built up grease and dirt, then oil them.

Thanks for the replies. All I usually do is clean and oil it. More curious than anything.

I did notice that the similar ones you find on EBay are 4500 and mine is a 5500. I can't even find an Internet reference to the 5500. I most likely can't get a repair kit.

The 1/2 Wrights are model 4400.
Sure yours isnt an N500?

I will try to post a pic tonight, but its an older model. I checked last night and it is a 4500.

I meant to say most I see are 4400 and mine is a 4500 . . . had my numbers wrong.
