So I'm buying a bunch of wright tools for the first time and I wanted to get some opinions on the 2 grip versions. The knurled vs contour grip. I want to know things like if it slips with oily hands or what one has the best control. Thanks!

Welcome to the Journal!!!

Unfortunately. you really need to decide for yourself. Perhaps buy one of each type to try out for awhile before buying more. It's an individual preference issue. Ya know, some guys like redheads while others prefer brunettes.:dunno:

I like the contour grip myself.

Don't overlook the tootsie roll grip, not the most pleasing on the eyes, but very durable. Unfortunately it's not available in all configurations, but definitely another option.

Hello Everyone!

I've started my Wright ratchet collection like Fedwrench said. I tried both the knurled and contour style handles. The contour handles won out. Since then I started to collect the contour handles. But don't forget to try the knurled because Wrights knurling is faultless, Especially the 1/2 drive. I've never seen knurling so CLEAN on any ratchet or breaker bar until Wright...

Are you a diy or a pro foxfracing?

I use to run a motorcycle shop out of my home garage and now I only work on very select few Ducati's and Japanese classics. Few dealer shops will work on carberated motorcycles now but I rather enjoy wrenching on them.

I have that one too; I think its my favorite ratchet. Its got a nice heft or balance or something to it that fits me just right.

I prefer the knurled ratchets, but that may be because its all I've ever used.

Thanks everyone, decided to start with the knurled grip because I just noticed thats all they have for 3/8 flex head.

They also have the nitrile grip flex head in bent handle and long straight flex heads as well. But you still are going to love the 3427. Before my 3425, I had the same one. Sold it to the other apprentice on the job at work and it has since been his go to work ratchet. Enjoy, my friend!

My preference is for contour grip and tootsie roll. I don't hate knurled grips, but so many other brands have a knurled handle. When I'm buying Wright I prefer the handles that are unique to Wright.

I don't know where you saw that, but it's not accurate. As noted above, there are other handles.

You must have missed the 3428
