I live in NE Ohio, and was curious if anyone knows if I can purchase direct from the factory and save a few pennies, or if they happen to have scratch and dent or partial sets at discount...

Just looking to bulk up on my current tools, not looking to completely retool.

No you can't go to the factory to make purchases. In the past I have made all my Wright Tool purchase's on Amazon.com but over the weekend I made a purchase from Harry J Epstein.
Most manufacture's who also sell direct don't sell at discounted prices, there is no faster way to lose your dealers if you are undercutting them on price.

I live a mile from The Hartville Hardware and Marketplace, and Kitchen... its worth a trip, pick a Saturday, and you can pick over the fleamarket (i got some killer scores there this past saturday, ill be posting later tonight) in the morning, lunch inside it, or at the kitchen, and then walk the hardware...

While they might be a 'dealer' they don't offer any sets, only piece by piece purchasing.

I have a dealer close to me in New Philadelphia, Ohio but they can't touch Amazon on pricing.

Just wondering if you are referring to the New Company? I Haven't had a chance to stop in to see what they have even though I pass it on 77 on the way to work everyday :dunno:

Yes the New Company is the dealer in New Philadelphia, singles only as far as I know but I haven't been in there in a while. They are a life saver for odd ball hardware I always seem to need though.
I commute to Barberton 57 miles 1 way to my office that is less then a mile from the Wright Tool factory.

Something else the local Ohio folks might be interested in I got wind of today is the Canton Repository newspaper is having a "Yard Sale" Sat Jun 21st. The have quite a few file cabinets that could be converted to a tool chest rather easily.
More info here http://www.replotsale.com/category/filingcabinets/

Couple samples of whats for sale.

I have a old Diebold cabinet that came out of a local bank that made a great storage/work surface, I have my vice mounted to it and use it for bulk storage.

The "New Company" is like a independent Fastenal.
The location is
1607 State Route 39 NW
Dover, OH 44622

Just down the street from the Harley dealer.

Holy **** that place is huge. Definitely taking a trip down.

Its a good trip.. like said go on a Saturday and hit the flea market as well.

Or wait for the open house which is usually fall and spring and is pretty awesome.. The wright tool rep will be there plus about everyone else you can imagine..

Some of the Reps are pretty lame, but the sale is usually pretty great..

I'm confused...the last time I was in the hardware they had Wright tool sets, like the wrench sets in roll-up pouch, basic 1/2 3/8 and 1/4 drive sockets. It is pretty basic but youre right, they have the big red Wright pegboard and it is mostly singles.

Hartville hardware's pricing isnt the best, you can probably find cheaper on Amazon.

I was just there this weekend they still have wrench sets in metric and SAE, and several socket only sets with racks, and a 1/4 socket set in a tin can..

So yeah they have sets but its limited.. They can order whatever.
