Well I have been on garage journal for awhile and always thought tool warranty was WAY over done. Figured if you treat your tools right, warranty should be the last thing you need to worry about....

Well, my 3/8 Wright ratchet that I purchased 2017 HJE day blew the socket retaining ball. (Pulled the socket off and heard the ball fly) This was probably the 3rd or 4th time using it. (Found after I got it that I still preferred the pear head style)

Ratchet still looks brand new, I guess I’ll see first hand how their warranty is...

Found I don’t care for the ratchets compared to the Snap On I have, but I LOVE their sockets. Best money I’ve spent.....

3490 ? Shame. I think someone posted a Mac branded Wright contour with that same issue, and he half assed it.

Quick release, smoother action and able to change direction with one hand.

Is that the dual pawl model? I always thought that ratchet with the contour grip like you have would be awesome to have. There's no dealers around that carry that model so I can't try it out. If I could put my hands on one, I would probably buy one.

Yep, dual pawl. I’ve found for me, QR is the only way to go.... I can tell it’s a quality piece, if it had QR, I would look past the single hand direction capability...

I never have cared much for QR and my SK ratchets I can switch with one finger. Some of my other round heads (like New Britain) do require two hands so I know what you mean. I like sockets that are knurled or have some kind grip to pull them off easy. My Craftsman sockets can be hard to get off at times. If you want to get rid of your Wright, I may know a guy.

I don’t work on equipment that I’m worried about hitting the button to release the socket, so for me needing a screwdriver to pop off the socket is just annoying...Maybe the next ratchet won’t be as stiff...the single hand direction change for me is just an additional bonus.
