I was pretty set on getting a set of Proto Reversible Ratcheting Wrenches but then read about how well the wrenches made by Wright that have the Wrightgrip work. Does anyone know how the Proto ASD design compares to Wrightgrip?

The new wrightgrip as this fall will also be non marring

Is there a thread on this with pictures that I missed? I currently consider proto wrenches the best because of their added grip and the fact that they do not give or damage fasteners. My equipment is going to be around a while, the last thing I want to do is rat up the pieces that hold it together.

I own both sets of wrenches and to me, the biggest difference between wrightgrip and Proto is the length of the wrench. The wrightgrip is more of a standard length wrench if there is such a thing whereas, the PROTOs are a longer pattern. The wrightgrip beam is slightly thicker and more rounded making it very comfortable to use. I like both wrenches.
How often are you actually going to use the open end of a wrench to break a fastener loose? I don't do it that often so, the modified non slip open end is a nice feature but, it isn't a deal breaker if a wrench doesn't have it. :dunno:
